How to make old accent furniture new again

I have had an “extra” jewelry Armoire for a few years and just could not let it take up space in my closet anymore.  I hated to put it on the curb. I think it was a gift from my husband, so even though it was hidden away due to it’s dark finish, I really wanted to give it a second life .

A makeover is what it needed, and I knew I would find another place for it besides the closet.

I am lazy when it comes to “sanding”, so I used some Kilz to start.

I painted it in white and green with paint I had on hand from other projects: such as a bedroom wall.  

I then added a few starfish designs to dress it up.

It was the perfect piece for a guest bedroom!
