Crazy Things That Wash Up on Beaches

After big storms and hurricanes, the beaches can be like treasure hunts. Some items seem exciting only to be mostly nothing, and some things are grand finds, and SOME things are dangerous. It’s always a good idea to contact the authorities when you stumble across something strange on your beach walk

Could it be the Titanic??

Recently, residents of St. Augustine, FL found a historical steamer trunk on the beach after Hurricane Nicole. It was dated to the 1930s. Once authorities were notified, and it was opened, there wasn’t anything exciting inside, but it is curious how it ended up on Florida beach. Click the image below to read about it.


The same article reports that another beach comber found human remains believed to be from as early as 500 BC. Since the coast was an ideal place to thrive in ancient times, such a find may not be as unusual as it sounds.

Nike Shoes

Over 60 thousand shoes were tossed overboard from a tossing ship in the 1990s. Scientists have been tracking the shoes ever since they hit the Pacific Ocean. To this day, those shoes are floating on the high seas.
