Refresh your bathroom decor with this simple upcycling idea
I recently updated bathroom trays to create more tiered storage on my bathroom vanity/countertop (post coming soon to show how I did it). But why stop at the trays? I have a ceramic white tissue holder and these cute white ceramic canisters that have just stayed hidden because I got tired of the look. Rather than give them away or trash them, I thought I would add a little color and beach flare.

I took the same fabric I used to update the bathroom trays and cut the little designs out so that I could apply them with mod podge onto the tissue holder and canisters.

I applied the Mod Podge to the containers first so that I could place the cut out designs on them and they would stick in place.

Once the cut outs were in place, I went over them with two coats of mod podge and let it dry between coats.

I found some cut little wooden beads in my bead stash and decided to add them to the canisters with a hot glue gun.

To break up the silver banding and add a beachy look, I added jute twine using a hot glue gun.

I decided to store the lids to the canisters for future use since I would be using these as toothbrush and toothpaste holders in my primary bathroom.

Try shopping garage sales and thrift stores to find old containers you can upcycle to fit your home décor. However, chances are you have some things in your house you’re ready to discard, and they make the perfect palette for a quick decorating idea!
