Give the kids a trash picker

It’s beach season, and that means lots of folks will leave lots of trash behind after their trips to the seaside. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true. So why not pick up a pack of trash pickers and give them to the kids for a fun and helpful beach activity?

Make it a game with a prize for whoever picks up the most trash. Add a prize for the weirdest piece of trash, or the biggest piece of trash. With hurricane season starting on the Gulf Coast, there will be some pretty crazy storm debris that ends up on the beach.

Here’s another idea! Let your kids collect cans for cash! Many end up left behind, but there are plenty of beach goers who would happily give their cans to kids.

I’m sure you can think of a few other ways to gamify beach clean up, so try it, and make it fun and valuable for your kids and the beach.
