How to Bring the Man cAve into the Mainstream

I love lamps, but it is hard to find a lamp shade that I like. My husband came home with two lamps that I didn’t know what to do with. The lamp stands were deer antlers, so to me, they belonged in a man cave. If I lived in a log cabin, I might be ok with them being inside my home. I had to figure out how to upgrade a lampshade to downplay the rustic look of these lamps.

I took a positive mindset and realized I could do something with the lamp shades to create a beachy look with those lights.

I removed the large dark rectangular lamp shade and purchased inexpensive white shades.

I wanted a beach look, even though the lamp itself is not. I glued jute net ribbon around the new lamp shades to finish them off.  I look forward to a future project to brighten up the lamp bases.
