Expressions of the animal kingdom

Two weeks ago today, our dad, Don Claxton, went home to the land of heroes. He served the people of Texas as a DPS officer, but he was also a hero to the animal world. Many people didn’t know he was an artist. Artistic expression is a key part of our family.
I love the sea, and my dad loved the animal kingdom, so here’s to a great man and his expression of the natural world he so loved.

Dad never took art lessons. He didn’t use an easel. He painted and drew from photographs, with his canvas laying on the kitchen table.

These are the drawings and paintings of a younger man. In later years, he turned to woodworking, and that’s what people knew of his art.
Of course, there was a girlie phase in his early twenties…

These canvases decorate our family home, so now we want to share them with our readers as a memorial to Don Claxton.

These are beautiful! A true artist!
